01

Start with identification, not a visual match

A worn housing may resemble another series while having a different bearing seat, tube fit or seal arrangement. Photographs are useful for identifying questions, but they do not establish interchangeability. Record the equipment reference, any legible part marking and the complete bearing designation. If a drawing exists, send its revision with the photographs.

02

Take front, rear and side views

Place one clean component on a plain background and photograph it square-on from the bearing side, the opposite side and the profile. Use a wider view to show the whole part and a close-up for visible damage or a step in the profile. Keep the camera steady and avoid perspective that hides the rim. Leave original markings readable. Do not use image enhancement to invent edges or dimensions.

03

Show the seal parts separately

If dismantling is safe and permitted under your maintenance procedure, label each removed component and photograph the arrangement. Keep track of the order and orientation. Do not dismantle operating equipment for an inquiry. A housing reference is not automatically a complete seal specification. The TK product page lists the housing and seal reference ranges separately for this reason.

04

Add measured dimensions on a drawing

Photos of a ruler are context, not a substitute for a dimensioned drawing and agreed measurement method. Mark the bearing seat, outside profile, fitting areas and required thickness. Keep housing wall thickness separate from roller tube wall thickness. Where a part is worn or distorted, flag the reading as a sample measurement rather than an original design dimension. Confirm critical fits and tolerances with the responsible technical person.

05

Define the replacement package

Say whether you need a bare housing, seal components or an agreed assembly. List quantities and identify which dimensions are controlled by the existing equipment. For non-standard work, start with the custom housing inquiry and attach the drawing in your email. Request confirmation of the exact configuration and sample review requirements before placing an order.

06

Use an attachment list for a clearer inquiry

A useful package includes the drawing revision, bearing reference, labeled component photos, relevant tube and shaft details, quantity and destination. Name attachments clearly so a rear view cannot be confused with a different model. Download the Sunwarm selection references for context, and use approved drawings to settle the final fit.
